Ludhiana is a most densely populated city of India located in the state of Punjab. It got its name from the Lodhi dynasty in the year 1480. Pir-I-Dastgir shrine is a famous shrine of Peer Abdul Kadar Gilani that draws both Hindu and Muslim devotees towards it. It is located in the north-west part of Ludhiana. Some of the some other places of religious importance are Gurudwara Charan Kamal, Gurudwara Nanaksar Jagraon, the famous tombs of Hussain Khan and Bahadur Khan and the Bilwanwali Masjid. About 17,000 plants and 1600 varieties of roses and numerous fountains make this place a centre of relaxation. A rose festival is held here every year.
